Geronimo Stilton's - Rats Nests

Geronimo Stilton's - Rats’ Nests

Read pages 6 - 9 and answer the following questions.

After reading the first page only can you identify what the main problem and ideas in the story are?
The main problem was mum didn't want a rat in the house but Millie wants the rat to live in their house that what they're arguing about.

What is the opening sentence, does it make an impact? Why/why not?
The opening sentence does make a compact because  in the opening sentence it was them arguing and we can tell that they both were having a conversation  about whether to keep the rat or not.

What are the language features of the opening sentence?
The language features are them arguing and having a conversation about a rat.

What does Millie’s mum mean when she called her room a Rats’ Nest?
She meant that her room was a pig style and it was so messy her room was just like rats nests.

What does the quote “swung into action that night” mean?
It meant she knew what she could be planning that night.

Looking at the title what are the issues that have come up in the story so far?
It about a rat and them arguing about letting the rat live in their house or not.

What is a lab? Write down your description in your own words, the look up ‘lab’ in the dictionary or on Google and write up the definition.
My own definition about what is lab is A laboratory of a  science lab.

-Dictionary meaning is LAB is an acronym, abbreviation or slang word that is explained above where the LAB definition is given.

Millie is having difficulties because of her feelings and loyalties, Is she doing the right thing? What would you do and why?
Well I think no because she is not doing the right thing and plus her mum has told her not to keep the rat in their house but Millie not listening to what her mum has told her to do.

Task 2 (Read pages 9-12 and answer the following)

What is Millie’s plan she has so far?
Her plan was that she was planning to clean up her room so her mum can change her mind about not keeping the rat in the house.

How is Millie’s plan going so far? Why do you think this?
Millie’s plan is reacting good so far because she  was cleaning her room and being a girl girl to her mum.

What is going on between Millie and her mum?
Millie is thinking of a plan to clean the room so that she would let her keep the rat in their house.

Why do you think her mum is suspicious?
Millie’s mum was suspicious because she thought that if she had kept the rat in their house the house would smell and stink like rats.

Can you predict what is going to happen in the rest of the story? Why do you think this?
Well I think that Millie is mum would change her mind about not keeping the rat in the house because how Millie was listening to what her mum said and how she was cleaning up her room.

Do you think Millie acted the right way? Was her decision right, why/ why not?
I think that Millie had made the right decision by cleaning her room and making the right choices.

Task 3

What does Millie’s mum mean when she said “I wasn’t born yesterday”? Have you heard this quote before? If so when/ where?
Well I have heard that quote before at school and at home.I think Millie's mum meant that she not a idiotic and not stupid.

When Millie’s mum said “He’s got a very white tummy” what can we slowly gather from this quote. Do you think Millie’s mum is warming up to the idea of having a mouse?’
I think Millie's mum is slowly changing her mind about not keeping the rat in the house and plus she looks kind of happy when she slowly took the rat out under the bed.

Here are my reading question related to the story we are and the Rats Nest.
